WHEATON, Ill. -- In her home state of Illinois, senior
Grace VanDorn became Albion's all-time assist leader, as the Britons cruised to a pair of three-set matches on Saturday afternoon. The Volleybrits defeated Wisconsin Lutheran and Wheaton to close out a 3-0 weekend.
VanDorn breaks the previous record of 2,899 assists held since 2016.
GAME ONE: Albion 3 Wisconsin Lutheran 0
WLC struggled offensively, attacking at a -.022 clip for the contest. The Warriors committed 28 attack errors, compared to Albion's 11.
Chloe Webber led the Brits with 10 kills and five total blocks. Sophomore
Olivia Alexander added nine kills while
Mariah Brenz (18 assists) and VanDorn (13 assists) dished up the offense.
With 12 digs,
Jenna Khoury was the lone Briton to tally double-digit digs.
Albion dominated the match, winning by scores of 25-16, 25-12 and 25-16.
GAME TWO: Albion 3 Wheaton 0
It was nearly an identical match of the WLC game, as Wheaton attacked in the negatives while Albion cruised to victory. The Britons exploded for a 25-9 win in the opening set.
Leading the way was
Kaylynne Nicholson, who added 11 kills and attacked at a .429 clip. Both Brenz and VanDorn finished with 13 assists.

Winners of four straight, the Britons (9-3) open MIAA play on Tuesday at Kalamazoo. Game time is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
