Men's swim and dive wins on the road

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – In their second dual meet of the season, the Albion College men's swimming and diving team defeated Wabash College, 129-111 on Saturday. Below is a listing of those who scored for the Britons. 

In the 400 medley relay, the quartet of Brendan Ritchie, Declan Tharp, Nate Cobb and Billy Barr won with a time of 3:39.22.

Sophomore Kelvin Crone-Willis won the 1000 yard free, clocking in at 10:30.70. Russell Brown placed third in the event with a time of 11:06.26.

AJ Zako's time of 1:50.18 earned him a second place finish in the 200 free. Richard Pifer was fourth for Albion (1:53.74). Zako later took second in the 500 yard free with a time of 5:06.44.

Barr went on to claim first in the 50 yard free, winning with a time of 22.07. Ritchie and Nick Johns were third and fourth for Albion in the event. 

Cobb turned in a great race in the 200 yard IM, winning with a time of 2:02.92. Just behind him was freshman Jalen Hung, who touched at 2:05.94.

Senior Justin Huttenlocher won both dives on the afternoon. His score of 248.50 won him the 1-meter, while he scored a 229.90 to win the 3-meter as well. Jeremy Romero was third in both dives, respectively. 

In the 200 butterfly, Tharp won handily with a time of 2:02.09 – 10 seconds faster than the runner-up. Brown's time of 2:15.13 earned him third in the race. Tharp also won the 200 breaststroke (2:17.89).

Barr and Cobb finished second and fourth in the 100 free for Albion. Evan Steele and Pifer were second and third in the 200 backstroke. Canon Rose scored as well, taking fifth in the event.

Also scoring in the 500 free were Hung (fourth) and Crone-Willis (fifth). 

The 400 free relay team was second, led by Pifer, Johns, Zako and Ritchie. 

Albion will be back in action on Friday at Calvin University, where they will compete in a quad. The meet begins at 5:30 p.m.
