Webber's 28 kills gives No. 23 VB win on Homecoming weekend

ALBION – Way to start Homecoming off with a bang. 

On Friday night, the No. 23 Albion College volleyball team defeated Adrian College, 3-1, to start Homecoming week right for the Britons. Chloe Webber's 28 kills at a .489 percentage led Albion to improve to 17-2 overall, 3-1 in the MIAA. 

The Britons took sets one and four by dominant scores. Albion grinded out a 26-24 win in the second, as Adrian won the third by a 25-20 mark.

Junior outside Olivia Alexander added 12 kills while Jesse Hepner tallied 10. 

Mariah Brenz continued her successful 2022 campaign with 47 assists, five kills and six digs. 

Defensively, Albion had three players finished with double digits – Jenna Schienke (18), Courtney Companion (14) and Alexander (12). 

In addition to her 28 kills, Webber added six blocks in the win. 

Albion swung at a .302 clip for the match as the Bulldogs mustered a .167 clip. 

On Wednesday, Albion hits the road for a week of non conference play. The Britons will travel to Oberlin for a 6:30 p.m. start.
