Indoor Track and Field kicks off 22-23 season

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – In their first competition of the indoor season, the Albion College track and field teams competed at the Indy Winter Break Invite. Below is a listing of Britons finishing top eight in their respective events.

Ronnie Puczkowski was second in triple jump, finishing with a mark of 13.10m.

In the 200m dash, DaMario Chapman was third, coming in with a time of 23.23. Will Davis was sixth, clocking in at 23.32. Davis's time of 7.07 later earned him fifth place in the 60m dash.

Armund Gordon Jr. and Henry Wehrly went 7-8 in the high jump. Gordon Jr. cleared 1.80m, while Wehrly finished at 1.75m. On the women's side, sophomore Felicia Choate took fifth, jumping a 1.40.

Gordon Jr. later went on to finish third in the long jump with a mark of 6.28m. In that same event, Wehrly finished seventh.

Senior Mason Darden was eighth in shot put with a throw of 14.06m. For the women, sophomore Tess Anthony placed seventh with a 10.59 mark. Darden later claimed second in the weight throw with a toss of 17.19m. That throw is good for second all-time in Albion indoor history. With a throw of 14.26m, Anthony took fifth.

In the 60m hurdles, Anna Loew took fifth, while Tori Gierach placed seventh. Loew ran 11.14, as Gierach finished in 12.13.

After winter break, the teams will resume competition on Jan. 14 at Trine.
