ELMHURST, Ill. — A valiant second half comeback fell just short as the Albion College men's lacrosse team dropped its firs contest of the season, 13-12 to Elmhurst.
Jace Conley finished with a team-high six points. With a three point afternoon, sophomore
Ethan Rottell reached the 100 career point mark.
Bolstered by a 5-1 second quarter, the Blue Jays held all of the monentum throughout the first half. Elmhurst took a 10-4 lead into halftime, Albion's largest deficit of the season.
Two goals from Rottell and one by
Andrew Miller cut the Blue Jay lead in half. The teams would trade goals to end the third.
Sam Puzevic found Conley with 11 seconds in the quarter for a goal, putting the Brits within three.
Despite chances down the stretch, Albion could not capitalize and find the equalizer.

Brock Yabs finished with four points apiece.

Gerald Haadsma was 15-26 from the face off X.
Bradley Luketic made 12 saves in goal.
Albion will be at Kenyon College on Mar. 19.
