MLAX wins fourth straight

WOOSTER, Ohio – Eleven straight second half goals propelled the Albion College men's lacrosse team to a 20-5 win over The College of Wooster. Jace Conley and Sam Puzevic combined for 16 points in Albion's fourth straight win. 

Conley scored six goals and dished out four assists. Puzevic netted four goals and assisted a pair. Defensively, Joey Tatar led the way with four caused turnovers. 

With 9:40 to play in the first, Brock Yabs broke a scoreless tie with a man-up unassisted goal. Less than a minute later, the FIghting Scots tied it up at the other end. Midway through the period, Jace Conley's shot hit iron and the ground ball found the net of Ethan Rottell. The sophomore quickly struck to bury a shot in the back of the net for a 2-1 Albion lead. 

Timmy Salinas increased the Briton lead with a goal with five minutes to play in the first. With just nine seconds to play, Wooster cut the lead in half, seeing the visitors take s 3-2 lead after one. 

It took until midway through the second for either team to score. Puzevic drilled a shot past the Wooster netminder off a feed from Conley, giving the visitors a 4-2 lead. 61 seconds later, the duo teamed up again for Puzevic's second goal of the afternoon and a 5-2 Briton lead.

With 5:32 before the break, the Fighting Scots found the back of the net for the first time in the second quarter. Conley made sure to put the Britons back up by three goals with his first goal of the day before the break. 

Conley tallied his fourth consecutive point of the day, assisting on another Puzevic goal. In the waning seconds of the half, Conely put the Britons up by five with an unassisted goal.

Albion controlled the offense in the second half, aided by a pair of goals from senior captain Gerald Haadsma

Bradley Luketic earned the win, making seven saves in 30 minutes. 

The Brits will continue their streak on the road on Wednesday when they travel to North Central College.
