Rottell, Conley help MLAX stay perfect

NAPERVILLE, Ill.- On Wednesday evening, the Albion College men's lacrosse team dominated the second half, claiming a 13-8 victory over North Central. The Britons were led by Jace Conley, who tallied five goals and one assist, and Ethan Rottell with three goals and a pair of assists.

The Britons were very strong defensively causing 13 turnovers, five of those coming from senior Joey Tatar. 

Gerald Haadsma was incredible from the face off X, going 12-22 while picking up seven ground balls. Also on the defensive side, Bradley Luketic recorded six saves in his three quarters at work. 

North Central was the first on the board and remained close through the first, but Albion pulled ahead going on an offensive streak. This took the Britons into the third quarter with a 5-2 lead. 

This streak was broken with a North Central goal with 9:49 remaining in the third. However, the Britons retaliated with a man-up goal from Timmy Salinas just over a minute later. This was followed by an unassisted goal from Conley. To solidify the Britons large lead was an unassisted goal by Sam Puzevic. Salinas, a sophomore, scored three times in the contest. 

The Britons started out the final period strong with two goals by Jace Conley, one of those being assisted by Sam Puzevic. North Central struck back with a goal with 10:05 remaining that was answered by a goal from Haadsma assisted by Rottell not even a minute later. 

The Britons out shot North Central 51-27 and were wonderful on the clear going 22-26. 

Through five games, Albion is a perfect 5-0 on the season. 

On Saturday, the Brits will head to Elmhurst University for a game at 2 p.m. CST.
