Balanced attack leads MLAX to win

ADRIAN, Mich. – 10 players registered points as the Albion College men's lacrosse team defeated Adrian College, 18-8. Leading the way was senior Jace Conley, scoring six goals while adding a pair of assists. 

Joey Tatar caused six turnovers in the win while picking up six ground balls.

Sophomore Timmy Salinas began the scoring for Albion, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead less than a minute in. After an Adrian goal, Gerald Haadsma, Conley and Ethan Rottell pushed the lead to 4-1. The Brits kept all the momentum in the first quarter, as Brock Yabs and Grant Chaffee joined in on the scoring. 

An early Bulldog goal in the second would do no damage, as Yabs and Sam Puzevic provided the answer for Albion. Two late goals from Haadsma and Conley gave Albion a 10-3 lead at halftime. 

A pair of Conley goals were followed up by a goal from freshman Brendan Mercier, giving Albion a 10 goal lead. Two more from Conley put all of the control in favor of the Brits, leading 15-6 with 15 minutes to play. 

In the fourth, Albion received goals from Puzevic and Robbie Dameron to secure the road win. 

The Britons improve to 10-4 overall, 3-1 in the MIAA.

Senior Jack Gogonis earned the win, making 11 saves. 

Albion's final regular season home game will be played on Tuesday when they host Kalamazoo. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
