No. 9 Hope knocks off WBB


HOLLAND, Mich. — It was a tough day for the Albion College women's basketball team, dropping a 78-49 decision to No. 9 Hope College. 

Leading the way was fifth year senior, Cierra Cole. Cole finished with a team-high 15 points, the only Briton in double figures. Hope limited the typically potent Albion offense, connecting on just 33 percent of its shots from the floor.

The Flying Dutch held a slim 19-12 lead after one quarter, but immediately built the lead to double digits in the second quarter. Hope took a 19 point lead into halftime and never looked back, as the Flying Dutch avenged the Jan. 14 loss at Kresge. 

Both Lolo Reed and Daniah Beavers finished with nine points in the loss. 

Albion was outrebounded in the contest, 43-30.

Albion hosts No. 7 Trine University on Wednesday. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
