Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Volleybrits roll past Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Freshman Margaret Jones was phenomenal in her first collegiate start, racking up 11 kills as the Albion College volleyball team swept Kalamazoo College, 3-0. 

Despite the Hornets working to keep the score close in the first two sets, an experienced Albion squad pulled away at the end of all three. In addition to Jones's 11 kills, Olivia Alexander contributed 11 as well. With eight kills in the middle, Ja'Nyece Larry continued to be a solid and reliable force for the Brits. 

Mariah Brenz led the offense with 40 assists. The senior totaled 11 digs in the win. Brenz's efforts were part of a large defensive night for the Britons, seeing five players record nine or more digs. 

Senior Courtney Companion (13) led the Albion defense, while Paige Williamson finished with 12. Alexander recorded 10 as senior Jenna Schienke finished with nine digs. 

As a team, Albion attacked at a .280 clip. 

Idle until Nov. 1, the Britons will welcome a Top-10 opponent in Calvin University. Game time is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
