Cooke collects double-double in loss

ANGOLA, Ind. – Despite a 20-point performance from Brazyll Watkins, the Albion College women's basketball team dropped its first game of the season, a 76-60 decision to Wittenberg University. 

The Britons hung tough with the Tigers for the first three periods, before Wittenberg outscored Albion 24-9 in the fourth quarter. 

In addition to the 20 points from Watkins, Emma Cooke recorded her first career double-double. The junior scored 11 points and collected 10 rebounds, five on each side of the floor. Senior guard Riley Davis was the only other Brit in double figures, adding 12 points. 

As a team, the Britons turned the ball over 17 times, leading to 19 Wittenberg points. The Brits also struggled from beyond the arc, making just one of 11 3-point attempts.

Albion wraps up the weekend with a 1 p.m. tip against Muskingum University at Trine.
