Six place at Mount Union Invitational

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Just a day after their season opener, the Albion College men's wrestling team was back on the mats at the Mount Union Invitational. As a team, the Britons finished sixth, scoring 77 points.

At 125 Jeremy Sarter finished fourth. He went 3-2 on the day, including a 19-6 major decision to start the competition. Freshman Benito Tinaj went 0-2.

Junior Brixton Bright was fifth in the 165 bracket. Starting the day with an 18-3 tech fall, he responded after a loss with a pin in 2:38. Remaining in the consolation bracket, he won 14-10 and then 11-1 in his final bout.

Owen Turnbow started the day with a 19-5 major decision in the 174 class. Coming off a loss, the sophomore fired his way through the consolation bracket, eventually finishing fifth. Jack Smith finished the day 0-2.

In the 184 bracket, Gary Iobe placed fourth, adding a pin and a pair of major decisions to his record.

At 197, Zach Jacobs took sixth. Jacobs pinned his first opponent in 3:27 and later added a tach fall win.

The Britons had a pair of wrestlers at 285 – Colton Turk and Dawson Ransom. Turk was sixth at heavyweight, turning in a 3-3 record. Ransom finished 0-2.

Next Saturday, the Brits host Wabash College for an 11 a.m. dual.
