OLIVET, Mich. – Taking on some of the best competition in the country, the No. 24 ranked Albion College men's wrestling team went 1-2 at the annual Comet Duals. The Britons knocked off Mount Union before falling to No. 1 Augsburg and Ohio Northern.

ROUND ONE: Albion 28 Mount Union 16

The Britons opened the match with back to back victories from Jeremy Sarter and Cade Odrobina. Sarter scored six points in the second period to help him claim a 9-5 victory, as Odrobina battled in a 4-2 win.

After a win by MTU at 141, Max Honiss – ranked ninth at 149 nationally – needed just 1:12 to pin his opponent and give the Brits six points. Sophomore Justin Gorman earned a 10-0 win at 157, seeing Albion lead 16-3 through five bouts.

Albion got two huge pins at 165 and 174 from Peyton Brooks and Zak Knapp. Brooks improved to 7-0 on the season with his third fall. Knapp, a freshman ranked 18th in the nation, followed with another fall in under a minute to secure a 28-3 lead.

The Purple Raiders won the final three weights, but Albion had a lead too large to overcome.

ROUND TWO: No. 1 Augsburg 45 Albion 0

The number one ranked team in the nation handled Albion in the second match of the afternoon. With multiple wrestlers ranked in the top 10 in their weights, seven of Augsburg's 10 wins came with bonus points.

ROUND THREE: Ohio Northern 28 Albion 15

Similar to round one, the Britons got the dual started with victories in their first two bouts from Sarter and Odrobina. Sarter's 13-5 major decision gave Albion four points, while Odrobina picked up his second win of the day.

ONU took the next five bouts – four with bonus points – to take a 24-7 lead with three weights remaining. Bumping up to 184, Knapp earned his second win of the afternoon with a 17-1 tech fall for five Albion points. Demond Harrison followed at 197 for Albion's final win – a 6-3 decision.

The Britons will be idle until Dec. 6 at the New Standard Invitational, hosted by York College (Pa.).
