Cooke tallies double-double at Otterbein

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Sharp-shooting by the hosts hurt the Albion College women's basketball team in a 63-48 loss to Otterbein University. The Cardinals shot 47 percent from the floor in the win. 

Emma Cooke recorded her third double-double of the season, leading Albion with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Sophomore Meghan Trewhella added 12 points, as Ava Guilford totaled 11 points, three assists and a team-high three steals. 

After one period, Otterbein held a slim lead, which turned into a 33-27 halftime advantage. Out of the new half, the hosts connected on baskets to build a double digit lead. 

As a team, the Cardinals shot 40 percent from beyond the arc. Albion struggled, finishing 0 for 12. 

Tomorrow, Albion will wrap up the 2024 portion of its schedule with another contest at Otterbein. At noon, the Britons will take on Hamilton College (NY).
