Women's basketball finishes Smokey Ballenger Classic

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The 2024 portion of the Albion College women's basketball team's schedule came to a close on Monday following a 71-43 loss at the hands of Hamilton College. Following the game, junior Ava Guilford was selected to the All-Tournament Team. 

Freshman Khaleeya Cook led Albion offensively with a team-best 10 points coming off the bench. Cook also swiped a pair of steals. 

Meghan Trewhella and Brooklynn Tornes combined for 16 points, as Emma Cooke and Anja Kelley finished with six rebounds apiece. 

Hamilton scored 21 points off 21 Briton turnovers. Despite Albion having the advantage from the 3-point line, Hamilton dominated the paint and received plenty of production from its bench. 

On Saturday, the Britons return home to resume MIAA action with a 1 p.m. tip against Alma College.
