No. 17 Flying Dutch defeat women's hoops

HOLLAND, Mich. – The No. 17 ranked Hope College team was too much to handle for the Albion College women's basketball team, dropping a 71-52 decision to open MIAA action.

Hope secured a nine point lead after one, and built a sizable lead heading into halftime. Forcing Albion to commit turnovers, the Flying Dutch scored 21 points off Briton miscues. 

Freshman Khaleeya Cook led Albion, scoring 10 points off the bench. Cook collected five rebounds to go along with her 10 points. Meghan Trehwella and Emma Cooke each scored nine points, as junior Ava Guilford dished out five assists and had four steals. 

Albion closes out its toughest stretch of the season on Saturday, hosting RV Trine. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.
