Women's basketball domaintes Adrian on Senior Day

ALBION – Celebrating the careers of the four seniors, the Albion College women's basketball team gave its class everything to celebrate in a 78-40 throttling of Adrian College. Prior to the contest, the Britons honored DB Edwards, Lolo Reed, Riley Davis and Daniah Beavers. 

All four seniors were dynamic in the victory, as Beavers led all scorers with 21 points on a 9 of 11 shooting effort. Beavers also brought down eight boards. Brazyll Watkins added 15 points and registered a pair of steals. 

Reed had a complete stat line featuring 12 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Off the bench, junior post Emma Cooke contributed 10 points and five boards. Davis led the team with four blocks as Edwards grabbed seven rebounds. 

After leading by six following the first quarter, Albion outscored the Bulldogs 19-8 in the second quarter to distance themselves from the visitors. A block from Davis led to a Reed fastbreak layup to give the Brits a 10 point cushion. From there, an and-one by Beavers and two layups from Watkins secured a 32-15 Albion lead at the half. 

Throughout the second half, Albion continued to pressure the Bulldogs to ensure their seniors would have a win on their day. The Brits registered 29 points off Adrian turnovers and had 54 points in the paint compared to just 18 from the Bulldogs. 

The Brits wrap up the regular season on Wednesday with a 7 p.m. game against Saint Mary's.
