Volleybrits split at Ohio Wesleyan

DELAWARE, Ohio – Margaret Jones and Paige Williamson dazzled in the Albion College volleyball team's split on Friday. The Britons made quick work of Capital University, 3-0, before falling to Case Western Reserve, 3-1.

In the Capital match, a balanced offense combined with Comet miscues helped lift the Brits to victory. Kayda Herrick and Carly Frank led the way with seven kills apiece. Jones ended with six kills, hitting a .353 clip, and totaling four blocks. 

Sophomore libero Williamson had 28 digs and five aces in the win. Both Brinley McCaig (13) and Joelle Boeskool (11) recorded double-digit assists for Albion. Defensively, Herrick and Boeskool also contributed double-digit digs, with Herrick tallying 13 and Boeskool 12. 

In the CWRU contest, the Britons struggled on offense. Herrick and Jones paced Albion with a team-high nine kills each. Williamson's 22 digs once again headlined the defense, as Herrick and Boeskool totaled 11 digs in the match. Senior Madison McGraw added 10 digs. 

Boeskool's 14 assists were a team-best. In her collegiate debut, freshman Molly Edmunds was solid, ending with 10 assists.

Albion wraps up their four-game weekend with contests against Texas Lutheran and Heidelberg tomorrow. The 10:30 a.m. TLU game will be followed by a 1 p.m. matchup with the Berg.
