Davis breaks 60m dash record in Tiffin

TIFFIN, Ohio – Will Davis broke the 60m dash record, highlighting the Albion College indoor track and field team's day at Tiffin University. Davis ran a 6.77, breaking head coach Lance Coleman's record. With that time, Davis currently sits fifth nationally in the event. 

Davis won the 60m dash, shattering the previous school record with a time of 6.77. He later went on to win the 200m with a race of 22.14. Also placing in the 200m were Henry Wehrly (fourth) and Shon Williams (eighth).

In the 800m, Chris Hernandez ran a 2:12.72 to finish seventh, while Robert Belf III's 2:14.65 was good for ninth. On the women's side, LaRaya Warnsley was eighth, running a 2:39.66.

Bianca Wiegerink won the women's mile, finishing with a time of 5:23.75. Olivia DeGraaf was fourth for the Brits and Taylor Adams took tenth. Sophomore Logan Vining finished fourth in the mile, running a 4:26.21.

Matthew Record finished third in the 3000m (11:34.59). On the women's side, the Britons were led by Fatima Cruz (second, 11:23.52). Cassandra Gallagher (third), Veronica Paniccia (fifth) and Serena Arnold (sixth) all ran as well.

Wehrly finished tenth in the high jump, clearing 1.81m.

The Britons had three place in the men's triple jump, led by a runner-up finish from James Grey (12.65m). Nauvion Burnett was fifth and Najee Smith took sixth. For the women, DB Edwards claimed sixth place. 

Eddie Hines was second in the shot put with a toss of 15.85m. Senior Connor Dewan finished fifth with a mark of 13.99m. In the women's event, Ashley Booth threw a 10.24m to finish sixth, as Aysia Yokely and Leilani Casteele placed eighth and ninth, respectively. 

Tess Anthony tossed marks of 11.42m in the shot put and 15.51m in the weight throw. 

Later in the day, Hines took fifth in the weight throw (15.95m). For the women, Booth (fifth), Skye Dickson (sixth), Morgan Hurd (ninth) and Casteele (tenth) were high placers.

Albion will be idle next weekend to gear up for the MIAA Championships, held Mar. 1 at Trine University.
