GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After day three of the MIAA Championships, the Albion College swim and dive teams sit in the middle of the pack. The women's team is in third place with 314 points, as the men's squad is in fourth with 290.
Starting the night with the 200 yard medley relays, Albion's women's team of Alexis Glaser, Mattie Smith, Kaitlyn Kreb and Hannah Fathman took third with a race of 1:45.91. On the men's side, Evan Steele, Owen Schaaf, Ethan Boersma and Billy Barr were fifth (1:38.82).
In the 400 IM, junior Emily Evers placed seventh, swimming a 4:54.46. Kelvin Crone-Willis took fourth with a PR of 4:07.17, as Jalen Hung (ninth) and Caleb Galvan (12th) scored as well.
Fathman finished third in the 100 yard fly with a time of 56.32. In the other heat, Kreb and Mikala Muccino were 10th and 11th. For the men's event, Boersma and Barr represented Albion, taking ninth and 10th.
Laurel Campbell was the only Brit to qualify in the 200 yard free. The senior took 16th.
In the 100 yard breaststroke, Smith was the runner-up, clocking a 1:03.86. Alyssa Glaser and Evers also scored in the women's event. Cam Thompson was the lone Albion scorer on the men's side.
Alexis Glaser placed seventh in the 100 yard backstroke (1:01.10). Freshman Charlotte Nguyen was 15th. On the men's side, Albion had four compete in the B final, including Boersma, Richard Pifer, Steele and Hung.
Saturday wraps up the four day event, with prelims beginning at 10 a.m. and finals at 5 p.m.
