Men's wrestling places eighth at Regionals

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – The Albion College men's wrestling team saw its season come to a close on Saturday at the NCAA Regional. As a team, the Britons took eighth and saw five regional placers.

Heading into Saturday, Albion had five wrestlers remaining – Koen Eberhard, Zak Knapp, Owen McDaniel, Demond Harrison and CJ Krum.

Eberhard finished seventh at 141. The sophomore dropped his first match of the day, but answered back with a tough 8-5 win in the seventh place bout.

Knapp, a freshman, placed fifth in the 174 bracket. He won via major decision (18-9) to start the day but narrowly dropped his next match.

At 184, McDaniel finished seventh as well, responding after losing his first bout on Saturday. In his final bout as a Brit, McDaniel pinned his opponent in 5:37.

Harrison was eighth at 197.

Krum dropped a heartbreaker in the third place bout, finishing fourth overall at 285. Krum advanced with wins of 14-1 and 2-1 before a tough 4-2 loss in the final match.
