Softball swept by Manchester

Box Score ALBION – Unable to find any offensive rhythm, the Albion College softball team was swept by Manchester University, 5-0 and 4-2.

Limited to just three hits in game one, the Spartans plated three earned runs off of Albion. The Britons received hits from Rachel Horecki, Lilly Zaskowski and Allie Trantham. The story was all Manchester, taking game one in the opener.

In game two, the Britons were held hitless until the bottom of the fifth inning. Sydney Schoenborn broke up the no-hitter and showed off her speed with an inside the park home run. At the time, it cut the Albion deficit to 2-1.

In the top of the seventh, Manchester plated two key insurance runs, taking a 4-1 lead. Albion scratched across one run in the home half, but the tying run was left stranded at second base.

On Friday, the Brits will host Saint Mary's for Senior Day, beginning at 3 and 5 p.m.
