HOLLAND, Mich. — The Albion women's basketball team lost, 80-44, against Hope at the DeVos Fieldhouse.
It was nothing like the Britons' 60-54 overtime upset of the Flying Dutch back on January 28. Albion did jump out to a 4-0 lead early but it quickly evaporated, as Hope closed the first quarter up 17-8.
They stretched it to double digits in the second and came away with a 22-point advantage, 42-20, at the half.
Hope's lead was as many as 34 in the third and as many as 37 in the fourth.
Albion could never get anything going offensively. They shot just 30.2% from their field, their second-lowest total of the season, and 21.7% from beyond the arc. The Britons also committed 23 turnovers compared to the Flying Dutch's 10 and were outscored 32-2 in points off turnovers.
Payton Baker led the way with 13 points, while
Khaleeya Cook scored 11.
