ALBION, Mich. — For the first time in team history, the Albion women's basketball program has a first-team All-Region recipient.
Meghan Trewhella has earned D3hoops.com first-team All-Region 7 honors, joining Ada Taute (Denison), Ava Ryncarz (John Carroll), Macy Miller (Ohio Wesleyan) and Samaree Perkins (Capital).
Trewhella is also the fourth D3hoops.com All-Region selection in program history.
"I couldn't be happier for Meghan," Albion head coach
Doreen Carden said. "She had an exceptional season and played a huge role in the success we had this year. She's a fierce competitor who delivered for us time and time again in tight games. She's very deserving of this recognition."
Trewhella notched one of the greatest individual seasons in program history. The junior became the fourth MIAA MVP in team history (Cathy Bachinski, 1984; Jennifer Kennedy, 1992; and Sarah Caskey, 2005) and was also named to the conference's first team.
The Houghton, Mich., native scored a program-record 541 points averaging 20.0 points per game. Trewhella broke Caskey's single season scoring record in 22 games and notched three 30-point games — including a career-high 35 against Concordia Chicago on November 15 — that landed her on D3hoops.com's Team of the Week.
The team captain led the MIAA in scoring by over 150 points and became the conference's first 500-point scorer since the 2017-18 season. She ranked top 20 in Division III in points, points per game, free throws and field goals and was named MIAA Player of the Week five times while shooting 49.9% from the field on the season.
The Britons ended the 2025-26 campaign with a 19-8 (11-5 MIAA) record and earned the No. 3 seed in the MIAA Tournament — their highest seeding since 2021.
It was also their most wins since the 2019-20 season (21) and the fifth-most victories in a single season in program history.
This is the 25th year D3hoops.com has named an All-Region team. The teams are voted on by various sports information directors and conference communications officials. Players chosen to the D3hoops.com All-Region team are eligible for All-America selection.
Trewhella has a chance to become the second D3hoops.com All-American in program history (Sarah Caskey, third team, 2005). The teams will be announced on Saturday, March 22. To view every D3hoops.com All-Region selection from this season, please visit
