ALBION, Mich. — Meghan Trewhella can add one more award to her outstanding resume.
The junior was one of five players at a college in the state of Michigan to be named to the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan (BCAM) Women's College Academic-Athletic Honor Team. The team honors five men and five women who are sophomores or older and a starter or key reserve on their team who have GPAs above a 3.0 as well as their athletic/academic accomplishments and community/campus service.
Trewhella sports a 3.56 GPA as an elementary education major.
The Houghton, Mich., native became the first player in program history to earn D3hoops.com first-team All-Region honors and the fourth D3hoops.com All-Region selection in team history as well. Additionally, she became the fourth MIAA MVP in program history and scored a program-record 541 points averaging 20.0 points per game.
