FINAL RESULTS
ALBION, Mich. — It was a scene that Albion had not seen in three years.
On the banks of the Kalamazoo River at Sprankle-Sprandel Stadium's Elkin Isaac Track, the Britons' women's track & field team won the MIAA Triangular Meet against Alma and Olivet in their first home meet since 2023.
Albion scored 151 points, followed by Alma's 129 and Olivet's 75 on a sunny day in the 30's.
In the 100m dash,
Mia Czarnowski (13.08),
Paige Allis (13.37) and Malea Wourman (13.43) went 1-2-3.
Stellamia Aerts took third in the 100m hurdles (17.54), while
Maggie Sorrelle (27.70) and
Adalyn Mata placed first and third in the 200m, respectively.
Sarah Kozal (1:02.88) and
Lauren Fenstermaker (1:03.13) went 2-3 in the 400m, and
Caragh Dwyer (1:08.00) and
Brianna Bennett (1:12.31) placed first and second in the 400m hurdles.
Melanie Symons was runner-up in the 800m (2:45.47), while
Taylor Adams won the 1,500m (5:17.23).
Bianca Baird (19:20.63) and
Serena Arnold (20:00.66) were the two best finishers in the field in the 5,000m to round out the running events.
In throws,
Kaylee Kopulos (4th, 31.69m) and
Leilani Casteele (8th, 29.00m) ended up in the top 10 in shot put for the Britons. Casteele was the runner-up in the hammer throw (38.08m), and
Melody Hisey took fifth (34.68m). Kopulos was the Britons' top finisher in the shot put (5th, 10.22m).
Alexis Ames was the javelin champion (29.62m), while
Riley Adams finished in third (27.22m).
In jumps,
Chelsea Thelen was second in the high jump (1.43m), and Czarnowski was also runner-up in the long jump (5.11m).
Sorrelle notched first in the pole vault (2.90m), and Aerts was the winner in the triple jump (9.56m).
Both thr 4x100m (49.82m) and 4x400m (4:15.71) relay squads were champions as well.
