DEMOREST, Ga. – Albion College completed the Georgia portion of its spring break trek with a 13-2 setback to 10th-ranked Piedmont College. Albion, which completed the first half of the spring trip with a 1-3 record, heads back to Indiana for a weekend series at Franklin College.

Albion trailed 2-1 after it scored in the second. Eric Shimmel hit a leadoff double and scored on Ben Gould's single.

Piedmont never had a big inning, but it put crooked numbers on the scoreboard in every nearly inning. The second was the only time the Lions failed to score.

Albion tacked on its second run in the eighth as Gould and Tommy Barrett walked to lead off the inning. Gould crossed the plate when Chad Gromek hit into a fielder's choice.
