ADRIAN, Mich. – A rash of errors – 26 hitting, 6 serving, and 6 receiving – cost Albion College in a 25-21, 25-15, 25-16 loss to Adrian College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association volleyball action Wednesday night.

Albion gained an 12-7 lead in the first set as Caitlin McClorey served up two aces and Stephanie Thurner and Lauren Outwater produced kills on consecutive points.

Adrian forged a tie at 14 as Albion committed hitting errors on three consecutive points. Adrian edged in front, 17-15, as Albion was whistled for a ball handling error and the Britons hit into a block. The Bulldogs increased the margin to 21-16 as Albion had attack errors on consecutive points.

Adrian ripped off six consecutive points to break away as the second set was tied at 10. The Bulldog rally started with a pair of Albion hitting errors. Adrian maintained at least a 5-point lead the rest of the set.

Adrian pulled away in the third set as an Albion error, a Linnea Berriman kill and a Kristi Walker ace moved the score to 15-11.

McClorey was Albion's most effective hitter with 10 kills in 21 attempts. Halle Thom produced seven kills and Outwater finished with six. Haley Gitre and Thom combined to make 23 of Albion's 42 digs in the match.

Berriman finished with 10 kills and three blocks for Adrian.
