Albion College track & field athletes are recovering nicely from the grueling Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championship last week.
Mitchell Klingler, who placed fifth in the 5,000-meter run during the MIAA meet, raced to the second-fastest time in school history Thursday on the first day of the Dr. Keeler Invitational in Naperville, Ill. Klingler crossed the finish line 15:01.9 for a five second drop in his personal best time.
Amanda Weaver, the MIAA champion in the 10,000 meters, completed her 5,000-meter race in 18:18.12, and she was followed by Rachel Derocher at 18:59.99.
The Dr. Keeler Invitational continues Friday.
