Cooper Bright Set to Represent Britons at NCAA Outdoor Championships

Cooper Bright became the first Briton to qualify for the 200m at the NCAA Outdoor Championships since 2014.
ALBION, Mich. — Cooper Bright has qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the 200m.

The senior and MIAA Most Outstanding Track Athlete broke the program record with a mark of 21.14 set during GVSU's Last Chance Meet on May 10 that was good enough to be the 20th seed heading into the championships (top 22 individuals in Division III in each event qualify).

It marks the eighth consecutive year a Briton has earned a spot in the NCAA Championships and second time since 2000 that a 200m sprinter representing Albion will compete. Justin Meredith in 2014 was the last, as he finished 12th that year.

The 2026 NCAA Championships will take place from May 21-23 at Veterans Memorial Field in La Crosse, Wis., marking the first time the Eagles have hosted the national meet since 2018.

The 200m prelims are set for Thursday, May 21 at 5:55 p.m. EST (4:55 p.m. CST). If Bright were to advance to the finals (top eight in prelims), he would compete on Saturday, May 23 at 3:50 p.m. EST (2:50 p.m. CST).
