Cooper Bright Earns Second-Team All-American Honors at NCAA Outdoor Championships

Cooper Bright finished 15th in the 200m at the NCAA Championships to earn second-team All-American honors.
LA CROSSE, Wis. — Cooper Bright finished the 200m in 15th in the prelims of the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Veterans Memorial Field at UW-La Crosse to earn second-team All-American honors. The senior ran in the second heat with a time of 21.59.

The MIAA's Most Outstanding Track Athlete broke the program record with a mark of 21.14 set during GVSU's Last Chance Meet on May 10 that was good enough to be the 20th seed heading into the championships (top 22 individuals in Division III in each event qualify).

Additionally, Bright was the first Briton to qualify for the NCAA Championships in the 200m since Justin Meredith in 2014, who finished 12th.

Bright ended his career as a USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region honoree in three different events (100m, 200m and 4x100m relay) while being a first-team All-MIAA selection. He also broke the 100m and 4x100m relay program records. During the indoor season, the former Briton men's basketball player garnered All-Region in the 60m dash and second-team All-MIAA honors.
