Albion Gains Point In MIAA Women's Soccer Standings

ALBION, Mich. – Albion College played to a 2-2 draw with Saint Mary's College to gain a point in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's soccer standings.

The Britons never trailed in the contest at Lindsey Lubanski placed a free kick from 40 yards out into the net 15 minutes into the match to start the scoring. Saint Mary's tacked on the equalizer nearly four minutes later when Maggie McLaughlin's chip shot got past the Albion goalkeeper.

Domenique Sarnecky received a crossing pass from Lauren Cross as Albion scored 22 seconds after Saint Mary's pulled even. Kerry Green completed the first half scoring as Saint Mary's achieved a tie with five minutes left in the first half.

Albion was credited with seven shots in the contest. Cross and Lubanski led the Britons with two shots apiece.

Albion, 2-6-1 overall, will travel to Angola, Ind., Saturday for a league contest against Trine University.
