GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Justin Meredith produced 18 points in the sprints, Josh Lowe 17 in the jumps, and Don Strite finished first in two events as Albion College finished third out of 10 teams in the Calvin College Indoor Championships.

Albion's 93 points was 11½ behind Trine's second-place total. Calvin sat atop the team standings with 180 points.

Meredith finished the 200 meters in an indoor school record time of 22.46 seconds to edge Aquinas' Ryan Parminter (22.64) and Trine's Tyler Bourdo (22.80) for first place. Meredith reached the 60-meter finish in 7.10 seconds, one-hundredth of a second behind Hope's Boone Marois.

Strite achieved a winning time of 2:35.07 in the 1,000 meters and he joined Colin Howard, Brant McCollum, and Mitchell Klingler on the winning 4x800 relay. Klingler also set a school-record time of 8:27.77 in finishing second in the 3,000 meters.

Lewis earned another second-place finish when he joined Blake Loudermilk, Kyle Braun, and Erik Davis on the distance medley relay.

Lowe produced third place performances in the high jump (21' ½") and triple jump (42' 6") and he finished fourth in the high jump, clearing the bar at 6' ¾".

Head Coach Lance Coleman noted there were two season-best and 13 personal-best performances.

Albion will now turn its attention to outdoor meets. It is scheduled to compete in Birmingham, Ala., March 15.
