ADRIAN, Mich. – Zach Maresh threw three scoreless innings of relief and Michael Fischbach sent a homerun over the right field fence in the seventh as Albion College walked off Nicolay Field with a 4-3 victory over Adrian College in the second game of a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association baseball doubleheader.

Albion had to settle for a split after collecting five hits in a 6-0 game one loss.

Batting with two out in the seventh, Fischbach sent a 1-0 pitch over the wall for Albion's second walk off win of the season.

Maresh surrendered a pair of walks in the fifth, but he retired the Adrian batters in order in the sixth and seventh to gain his first career victory at the collegiate level. Adrian had runners on first and third with two out in the fifth, but he escaped by inducing a fly ball to right.

Game two starter Nate Brubaker allowed two earned runs on five hits and two walks. Brubaker left the game trailing 3-2 after Sam Fischer homered to center field and Drew Shutes sent a RBI double down the left field line in the third and Corleone Desimone scored an unearned run in the fourth.

Albion forged a 2-2 tie in the third as Spencer Bonofiglio and Kyle Kowal produced the RBI. Dan Mill crossed the plate when Fischbach hit into a double play in the fifth to tie the score at 3-3.

Adrian seized control of game one with a four-run third inning. Mitch Stefanski delivered a towering three-run home run to right field in the frame.

Fischbach and Kowal were both 3-for-6 at the plate for Albion in the doubleheader. Davin Montgomery collected three hits in seven at-bats on the day.

Albion, 5-9 overall and 1-3 against MIAA rivals, has a Tuesday non-league date at Ohio Northern. The Britons next MIAA series is March 29-30 doubleheaders against Trine University.
