GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Albion College's frustration in one-run games continued Saturday when it suffered 1-0 and 3-2 losses to Calvin College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association baseball doubleheader.

Albion is 1-4 in league games decided by one run.

The Knights scored in the late innings in both games. In game one, Grant van Putten scampered home on a wild pitch with two out in the sixth inning. In game two, Calvin erased a 2-0 deficit in the seventh when Travis Kraai and Matt Schepel drew bases loaded walks and Van Putten stole home.

Kyle Kowal, Dan Mills, and Davin Montgomery collected two hits apiece on the day. Joshua Fischer and Ben Crawford drove in Albion's runs in game two.

Albion, 10-16 overall and 6-10 against MIAA rivals, has a Wednesday non-league home date against Spring Arbor University.
