Meredith Breaks School Record In Sprinting Events

HILLSDALE, Mich. – Justin Meredith broke the Albion College school records in the sprinting events, Alex Goricki and Ben Kolanowski established personal records in the hurdles, and Mitch Clinton achieved a personal best in the steeplechase as Briton student-athletes tuned up for next week's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championship by running in the Gina Relays at Hillsdale College.

Meredith raced to times of 10.61 seconds in the 100 meters and 21.57 in the 200.\

"Both times should set Justin up well for the league meet and nationals," Albion Coach Lance Coleman said.

Another Briton sprinter with the same first name – Justin Ware – earned a personal record in the 100 meters when he reached the finish in 11.24 seconds.

Goricki was one of the top Division III athletes in the hurdles. He finished seventh in the 110 (15.84 seconds) and eighth in the 400 (58.35 seconds). Kolanowski completed the 400 distance in 1:00.51.

Clinton completed the steeplechase in 9:32.40.
