ALBION, Mich. – Craig Conway and Dylan Woolley gave Albion College quality starts on the mound as it swept a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association baseball doubleheader from Kalamazoo College by scores of 3-1 and 4-1.

Conway threw his first complete game of the season – the fourth of his career – in game one. He took a shutout into the seventh inning and settled for allowing a run on six hits and three walks. Conway escaped a jam in the second when Kalamazoo third baseman Jack Clark ground out to third to leave the bases loaded.

Kyle Kowal and Dan Mills produced RBI sacrifice flies to support the Albion offense in game one.

Albion scored all four of its runs game two runs in the first inning. Kowal slapped a two-run single through the right side of the infield and Spencer Bonofiglio walked with the bases loaded.

The early lead was enough for Woolley who allowed a run on five hits. Gunnar Owens retired the Hornets in order in the seventh to pick up his third save of the season.

Kowal hit .500 in the doubleheader. He went 2-for-4 with three runs batted in.

Mills, Davin Montgomery, and Brendan Diamond all finished the day with two hits for the Britons. Montgomery came around to score three times.

Albion, 8-12 overall and 4-6 against MIAA rivals, is scheduled to complete the weekend series with a 1 o'clock Sunday doubleheader at Kalamazoo.
