Box Score ALMA, Mich. – Alma College became the first opponent to shoot better than 43 percent against Albion College this season as it held on for a 64-60 victory over the Britons in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's basketball action.
Alma scored on 52 percent (23-of-44) of its shots. Scott Nikodemski led the Scots with 21 points, two shy of matching his season-high. He made 7-of-12 shots from the field.
Alma led 34-27 at halftime and extended the lead to double digits when Nikodemski hit a pair of free throws with 17 minutes left. The Scots led by as many as 16 in the second half, including a 54-38 margin with eight minutes left.
Lucas Marble and Zach Hurth knocked down three-point baskets to ignite Albion on a furious rally down the stretch. Albion forged a tie at 58 when Hurth hit his third shot from long distance in the second half with 2:35 left.
Alma never surrendered the lead as Nikodemski scored a layup on the next possession.
Briton Notes
Travell Oakes produced his third double-double of the season. His 23 points was a career-high and he pulled down 11 rebounds. He shot 9-of-11 from the field.
Jordan Herron was Albion's other double-figure scorer with 13.
Albion shot a season-worst 30 percent (18-of-61) from the field.
