GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Albion's track & field athletes braved the wintry conditions to compete in an indoor meet at Calvin College.
Josh Lowe turned in Albion's best individual finish, earning second-place in the in the long jump with a leap of 21 feet, 6 inches. He also sprinted to sixth place in the 60 meters (7.21 seconds).
Justin Meredith, the defending Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association champion in the 100 and 200 meters, led the Briton sprint crew by finishing fourth in the 60 meters at 7.15 seconds. He was followed by Justin Ware in fifth (7.18) and Jeremy Shephard in seventh (7.30).
Meredith, Shephard, Carles Summerour and Mikal McKoy took second in the 4x200 relay, crossing the line in 1:33.15.
In other events, Alex Goricki finished fourth in the triple jump (39', ¼"), Luke Somsel fifth in the shot put (41', 5 ¾"), Kyle Braun fifth in the 800 (2:04.99), and Colin Howard fifth in the mile (4:38.80).
Albion will continue to run indoors next Saturday when it travels to Hillsdale College.
