HILLSDALE, Mich. – Albion track & field coach Lance Coleman rarely has his athletes compete in multiple events this early in the season.
However, Alex Goricki and Justin Meredith each finished among the leaders in a pair of events as the Britons competed in an indoor meet at Hillsdale College.
Meredith, the 2014 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Most Valuable Runner, sprinted to a personal-best time of 6.99 seconds in finishing third in the 60-meter dash. He also finished third in the 200 meters, reaching the line in 22.64 seconds.
Goricki finished fifth in the 60-meter hurdles, achieving a season-best time of 9.18, and in the triple jump with a leap of 40' 4 ¼".
Other Britons achieving personal best performances included Nick Bertoia in the 400 (54.36), Dan Fick in the 60 hurdles (9.44), Ben Kolanowski in the 400 (53.92), Mikal McKoy in the 200 (23.72), Chris Ogston in the weight throw (42' 8 ¼"), Luke Somsel in the shot put (41' 11 ½"), Andrew Strzelecki in the weight throw (33' 9 ½"), and Justin Ware in the 60 (7.18) and 200 (24.11).
"The effort and outcomes were good for the third competition of the season," Coleman said. "Both groups are progressing well as we look toward the upcoming outdoor season."
