BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Nick Bertoia launched the javelin 154' 1" to finish fourth in the event during the Birmingham Southern Invitational as the Albion College track & field team completed a week of spring break competition and training.

Bertoia's first attempt turned out to be his best. He finished an inch behind the third place effort by Calvin's Erick Holder.

Josh Lowe and Alex Goricki were among the top eight performers in the triple jump. Lowe's third attempt – 41' 10 ¾" was good for sixth place. Goricki popped a jump of 41' 8 ½" on his next to last attempt.

Albion's next competition is the Viking Olympics, scheduled for March 27-28 in Rock Island, Ill.
