Box Score MEADVILLE, Pa. – Allegheny College scored six times over the final 24 minutes of the first half and it went on to score a 13-4 victory over Albion College in non-league women's lacrosse action.
Kadie Koolwick controlled the draw nine times and Albion won 12 of 18 draws. The Britons lost possession, however, committing 31 turnovers.
Julie Wood and Ashley Glenn scored goals a minute apart as Albion ran out to a 2-1 lead.
Alexa Maloney scored three goals, Shelby Piper added two and McKenzie Bell tacked on a goal and assist during Allegheny's first half scoring binge. Piper added a goal in the second half, giving her and Maloney three for the day.
Glenn scored a pair of unassisted goals in the second half for Albion, and she finished the day with three, as well.
Coach Shanta Loecker was pleased with the effort of goalkeeper Victoria Della Pia who was credited with six saves.
Albion, now 6-1 on the year, will turn its attention to its first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association contest of the season. The Britons will travel to Olivet College Saturday for a 1 o'clock contest.
