Box Score CHICAGO – Albion College scored its most lopsided win ever in women's lacrosse Monday night as it rolled to a 21-1 victory over Illinois Tech.
Prior to Monday, Albion's largest margin of victory was 16 goals. The Britons defeated Kalamazoo College, 21-5 last season.
Albion also fell a goal shy of its record for most goals in a game. The Britons scored 22 against Olivet College last season.
The Britons had not played since Feb. 21, but they showed little sign of rust. Ashley Glenn scored seconds after the opening draw and she stuck for her second goal just 90 seconds into the contest.
Albion led 5-0 just six minutes into the contest and it forced a running clock with a 10-goal lead midway through the first half.
"We tried to put our focus into discipline and controlling the pace of the game," Albion Head Coach Shanta Loecker said. "I think we did a good job of recovering from mistakes.
"(Goalkeeper) Victoria Della Pia has been playing consistently well," Loecker added.
Glenn scored on five of the six shots she took. Kadie Koolwick and Julie Wood chipped in with four goals apiece, Mackenzie Novak produced two goals and four assists, and McKenzie Bueck, Cait Gaitley and Lauren Wiegand finished with two goals apiece.
Albion's next competition in the Chicago area is Wednesday night at Elmhurst College.
