ALBION, Mich. – Albion College scored 20 goals for the second time this season as it rolled to a 20-5 victory over Saint Mary's College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's lacrosse action.

With the victory, Albion (10-2 overall, 4-1 MIAA) inched closer to securing a berth in the league tournament. The Britons have home games against Adrian College and Trine University and a road trip to Hope College to close the regular season next week.

Mackenzie Novak, one of three seniors on the Albion roster, scored seven times to bring her total for the week to 14 and her total for the season to 40. She also scooped up three groundballs and caused a turnover against the Belles.

"Mackenzie plays better when she is having a good time. She has been composed and she is letting the game come to her," Albion Head Coach Shanta Loecker said.

Kadie Koolwick scored with 1:19 left in the first half and 1:12 into the second half as the game was played with a running clock as Albion built a 10-goal lead. Koolwick finished with three goals and an assist. One of the Division III leaders in draw controls, Koolwick had nine in the contest.

Julie Wood produced three goals and four assists and Ashley Glenn, another of the Albion seniors, chipped in with three goals and an assist. Shannon Kahl added two goals and two assists.

Goalkeeper Victoria Della Pia picked up nine saves.
