BEVERLY HILLS, Mich. – Kadie Koolwick scored three goals and won seven draw controls and Cait Gaitley scored twice as Albion College launched the women's lacrosse season with a 20-7 loss to Augustana (Ill.) College at Detroit Country Day School.

Koolwick scored a man-advantage goal as Albion forged a 1-1 tie 3 ½ minutes into the game.

Augustana ripped off the next nine goals to seize control of the contest.

Koolwick, Julie Wood and Lauren Wiegand scored as Albion pulled within 10-4, but that was as close as the Britons would get.

Albion pounced on 19 ground balls, with Shannon Kahl scooping up five.

Albion will be in action in Kentucky next weekend for contests against Centre and Berry.
