Diver Henry Swett joined Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association individual event champions Derek Bosko, Jake Burris, Nate Kozycki and Sebastian Tostado on the all-MIAA men's swimming & diving team released Friday.
A first-year student-athlete who prepped at Marshall High School, Swett produced 33 points for Albion College in the MIAA Championships with a runner-up finish in the 1-meter competition and a third-place finish in 3-meter.
Swett and Burris, a first-year student-athlete from Chelsea, Mich., who was named the MIAA's Most Valuable Diver, are competing in the NCAA Regional Championships at Denison University this weekend. Burris won the 1-meter competition and finished as the runner-up on 3-meter.
Bosko, a junior from Holland, Mich., was named the MIAA's Most Valuable Swimmer after producing league titles in the sprint freestyle events. His winning time in the 100-yard event (44.70 seconds) was the sixth-fastest qualifying time for the NCAA Division III Championships in March. He also qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 50 with a time of 20.51 seconds.
Kozycki, a first-year student-athlete from Grand Rapids, qualified for the NCAA Championships with a time of 49.34 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly. He also finished second in the 200-yard butterfly (1:53.28) and tied for seventh in the 200-yard individual medley (1:57.84).
Tostado, a junior from Mexico City, Mexico, captured league titles in the 200-yard IM (1:51.04) and 200-yard backstroke (1:49.98) with NCAA Championships qualifying times. He was the runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle.
In addition to their individual accomplishments, Bosko, Kozycki and Tostado were joined by Gerardo Huidobro in setting school-record times in the medley relay events during the MIAA Championships. Bosko and Tostado added a school record with Parker Belmore and Tom Parsons in the 800-yard freestyle relay.
