ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Albion College distance runners Mitch Clinton, Alex Dermody, Mark Klingel and Kurt Swaton held their own in the Washington University Invitational.
Clinton, a senior from Plymouth, is ranked 11th in Division III after winning the steeplecahse in a personal-best time of 9:30.18. His 10 points boosted Albion to 19th in the final team standings.
Dermody, a sophomore from Grosse Ile, set a time of 33:26.28 in the 10,000 meters. Klingel finished his race in 34:13.42 and Swaton in 34:14.45.
Jon Haadsma finished fifth in his heat of the 1,500 meters, setting a time of 4:17.61.
Andrew Wittland finished the 5,000 meters in 15:58.03.
Albion will travel to Delaware, Ohio, next Saturday to compete in the Marv Frye Invitational.
