DELAWARE, Ohio – First-year student-athlete Jephte Jean-Claude achieved a season-best when he completed the 110-meter hurdles in 14.94 seconds to finish fourth in the event at the All-Great Lakes Elite Meet.
A product of Traverse City Central High School, Jean-Claude qualified for the final with a preliminary run of 15.23. Jean-Claude also competed in the triple jump, finishing sixth with a leap of 44' 1 ½".
Tyra Thomas-Spratley, a first-year student-athlete from Birmingham, came within a hundredth of a second off her season-best time in the 100. She completed the 100 in 12.84 seconds and covered the 200 meters in 26.47.
Also representing the Albion women were Nia Thomas (15' 7" in the long jump) and Alyssa Wright (142' 7" in the hammer throw).
Back to the men, Ryan Watson was entered in the 400 meters for the first time this season, and he achieved a time of 52.95 seconds. Kyle Braun set a time of 2:00.62 in the 800, Colin Howard finished the 1,500 meters in 4:15.36, Alex Dermody crossed the finish of the 5,000 meters in 16:31.54, Mitchell Clinton completed the steeplechase in 9:50.10, Richard Annorat cleared 6' 1 ¼" in the high jump and Daniel Fick threw the javelin 133' 5".
