Robinson Celebrates MIAA Javelin Title

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Rayshawn Robinson hit a personal record of 152' 10" to win the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association title on the first day of the league's outdoor track & field championship.

The sophomore from Jackson, Mich., won the event by nearly 10 feet over Calvin's Jordan Jorritsma. Andrew Strzelecki, an Albion College junior from Waterford, Mich., was third at 140' 5".

Jacob Maurer also achieved a personal record – clearing the pole vault at 13' 3 ½" – to finish seventh.

Richard Annorat finished sixth in the long jump, sailing 20' 9".

Albion scored on the track Thursday night as Mark Klingel and Andrew Wittland finished sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 10,000 meters.

Albion will be represented by Michael Harvey (100 meters) and Kiehl Smith (800 meters) in the finals on Friday.
