Jumpers lead Albion in MIAA Track & Field Championship

ANGOLA, Ind. – Albion College enjoyed success in field events in finishing fourth in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Jumpers Richard Annorat and Jephte Jean-Claude each earned two medals. Annorat cleared the high jump at 2.05 meters (6' 8 ¾") to win the gold medal with a MIAA record and he was the runner-up to Jean-Claude in the triple jump. Jean-Claude sailed to 14.32 meters (46' 11 ¾") in the triple jump and he claimed the bronze medal in the 60-meter hurdles when he crossed the finish line in 8.64 seconds in the championship race.

Thrower Kejuan Frazier sent the shot put 14.84 meters (48' 8 ¼") to win the gold medal. Andrew Strzelecki achieved a personal record of 16.26 meters to win the bronze medal in the weight throw.

Albion's other medal on the track came from Kiehl Smith, who finished third in the mile run (4:23.63).
